Heather Blakey: Silverhand

Do you remember that night
When we parked at the market
And a man with no money was sitting near the stairs
Playing a song I wrote before I died the first time
And you were so angry at me
But I was stuck in your head and you couldn’t get rid of me
You called me princess, and loser
But you smiled when you said it
I liked that I could make you do that
I liked that nobody knew me anymore but you
I might have kissed you then
Might have put my fingers under your chin
Tilted your face to mine
Our noses pressed together, your hands in my hair
But I couldn’t anymore
So I just sat with you like a ghost
And thought about how much I loved you
